Galax Downtown Parade and Open House

The Cornerstone Kids (and any adults that want to join them)  will be walking in the Galax Downtown Parade this Friday Night.  They will be handing out invitations to our After the Parade Open House, throwing candy and singing as they walk.  Please meet at the Police Station at 6:30pm. The Parade begins at 7pm. The kids will walk the length of Main Street and stop at Cornerstone.  Parents should be at Cornerstone to meet their kids at the end of the parade.

After the parade the kids will be performing “Go Tell it on the Mountain” upstairs on the stage during the Open House. They have been practicing the song for the last few weeks on Sunday morning.  Children should meet upstairs near the stage after the parade.

We have Cornerstone Kids’ t-shirts!! They are lime green and look just like the adult volunteer Cornerstone Kids’ shirts but in kid sizes. Kids can pick up the shirts and wear them during the parade and/or during the Open House — they are short sleeved so dress accordingly. We are asking that kids pay $5 for their shirts to help with the cost. Someone will be at the church upstairs in the cafe at 6pm on Friday night before the parade if you want to get a shirt before heading to the parade.

After the Parade Open House

Join us at the church for our annual After the Parade Open House!  We still need  many cookies, snacks and drinks to provide for the community, as well as volunteers to work in the café area, help serve and greet at our doors!  If you would like to bring something or volunteer to help, please contact Terry or Linda Combs.

God’s Storehouse Soup Kitchen

Come enjoy a delicious spaghetti dinner before the parade and support a great cause! God’s Storehouse Soup Kitchen is having a fundraiser Spaghetti Dinner in the Community Room before the parade from 4pm – 7pm.  If you need tickets you can contact Jennifer Morris.  Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for kids.  Santa will be there!!
