Our Response Time

Our Response Time

At Cornerstone, we want to help you grow in your faith. So after each service, we want to give you a chance to respond to these two questions.

  • What is God saying to me?
  • What am I going to do about it?

We give you the opportunity to respond in several different ways.

Sing

Paul tells us in Ephesians 5:18-19 “…be filled with the Holy Spirit, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts.” We praise God for who He is and what He has done in our lives. During our Response Time, our worship team will lead us in responding to what we have heard during the worship service.

Decide

Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” For some of you, the next step is to accept Jesus Christ into your life. For others, it may be to be baptized. Maybe you need to join our church through membership, get into a LifeGroup, tithe, find a ministry, or go on a mission trip. On your communication card, you will find several next steps you can take. You can fill this out and place it in our offering boxes during this response time. If you would like to trust in Jesus for salvation, we ask that you please talk with one of our elders at the end of our service in the upstairs prayer room.

Pray

Colossians 2:13-14 states, Jesus “canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross.” Jesus paid the ultimate price for our sin on the cross. As a symbol of that loving action you may want to take this opportunity during our response time to write out your prayers and place them at the cross. Use this as a time of reflection and repentance as you pray for yourself and others. The elders will collect the cards and pray over them each week.

Talk

James 5:13-14 tells us, “Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.” During our response time, we invite you to meet with our elders in the upstairs prayer room to talk and pray. If you would like to have a prayer of healing, a member of our elder team will be available to pray with you. This is a time where you can receive prayer, counseling, and strength.

Remember

Jesus instituted the Lord’s Supper when He gathered with those closest to Him and served them the wine and the bread, which He said was to represent His body and His blood. At Cornerstone, we often offer self-serve communion stations during our response me to allow you or your family to take communion together. We ask that you let scripture guide you and please take communion only if you have made a decision to receive Christ in your life. We also ask that you take communion with a clear heart, first confessing your sin to God and making any sin right with others in the body of Christ.

Give

God asks us to give of our resources joyfully to Him. The act of submitting to God with our tithes and offerings is an act of worship. Take time during your worship response time to commit your tithes and offerings to God and freely and graciously ask God to lead you in how you can be a good manager of His financial resources. You can give by placing your tithes and offerings in our offering boxes, or your can give online.
