Oklahoma Disaster Relief

pray_for_oklahoma-still-16x9

In a time like this, it is easy to feel helpless. We want to give you an opportunity to make a difference and share the love of Christ. We will have a prayer service on Thursday night, and we will be collecting supplies and financial donations at Walmart on Saturday, May 25th.

Prayer Service

Please join us to pray for the victims of the recent storms across the midwest. This is open to our community, so please invite your friends and families to join us. We will meet in the Community Room on the 1st Floor at Cornerstone on Thursday at 7pm. We can make a difference, and it starts with prayer. We will be praying for …

  • the families who lost loved ones
  • the first responders and recovery teams that are serving
  • the local police and fire departments
  • the churches in the communities that were affected
  • the community leaders

Collection of Supplies

Here is your chance to help make a difference for those affected by the tornados in Oklahoma. The Galax Fire Department, in cooperation with Cornerstone Community Church and God’s Pit Crew will be at Walmart in Galax on Saturday, May 25th starting at 8am to collect supplies for tornado relief efforts in Oklahoma.

The greatest need at this point is for financial contributions which will be used for transporting and buying supplies to provide relief to those affected by this tragedy in Oklahoma. A trailer will also be setup at Walmart to collect supplies. Here is what is needed most. Clothes are not needed at this time.

  • Financial Contributions for God’s Pit Crew to use is assisting the victims
  • Bottled Water
  • Personal Hygiene Items (soap, toothpaste, deodorant, toilet paper, etc.)
  • Diapers
  • Canned Food that doesn’t need to be heated and preferably has a easy opening lid
  • Prayer

Consolidated Glass & Mirror Corporation in Galax will deliver the trailer to the warehouse in Danville for use by God’s Pit Crew to help those in need. For more information, please contact Mike Ayers at 276-233- 5767
