Wholly Living – Week 1

Wholly Living – Week 1

Today, we start a new sermon series about the fruit of the Spirit. This series called Wholly Living: Reflecting Christ in Our Lives uses the fruit of the Spirit as a test for spiritual maturity and potential growth. When looked at as a cohesive list, the fruit of the Spirit describe Jesus himself. And as one star forms an even more majestic picture with other stars in a constellation, so the spiritual fruits listed in Galatians 5 form a grand picture of Christlikeness. In this message, we examine the first three characteristics, love, joy, and peace, and show how they demonstrate a spirit-led life.

Sermon Notes:

The Solution to Fighting Our Evil Desires is to Walk in the Spirit

Love is not about what we feel for others— it’s about what we do for others.

Joy is a pervasive and firmly established sense of well-being

Peace is a sense of rest and calm that comes from knowing God

Healthy fruit comes from deep roots

You are only as mature as your most immature fruit
