Today, we are finishing our sermon series based on the parable of the prodigal son. The gospel comforts those who feel too far gone but also challenges those who think just knowing about God is enough. The prodigal son reminds us that God’s grace is inexhaustible: we can never out-sin his forgiveness. When we feel buried in shame because of sin, we can still turn toward God, knowing that he will not reject us.

People who break rules or follow rules both end up lost
God’s love allows him to forgive and restore anyone who is lost
Religion says “I obey – therefore I am accepted by God” The Gospel says “I am accepted by God through the work of Jesus Christ – therefore I obey.”
