This event begins Friday, May 5th at 6:30 p.m. and will run to about 9:30 p.m. It will resume the following morning, Saturday, May 6, at 9:00 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m. There will be time for couples to go out to lunch and take breaks between video sessions and exercises.
We at Cornerstone Community Church are excited to host our first Art of Marriage Event! Our goal is to make this event as enjoyable and fruitful as possible for you and your spouse. Feel at liberty to free up the whole weekend and make this a special time of reflection with your spouse. Afer the event ends on Saturday, you may feel compelled to take the rest of the weekend to do something fun and intimate, such as camping or relaxing at a hotel. This is a great event to turn into a mini-vacation.
The Art of Marriage weaves together expert teaching, real-life stories, humorous vignettes, and more to portray both the challenges and the beauty of God’s design. This video-based teaching allows each couple to listen and learn in a safe and comfortable environment. Throughout the session, each couple will have time alone to go over the exercises in their workbooks and discuss the content (alone or with one another). Each couple will receive their own workbook to use during the event and to keep for further study.
The deadline to signup is Wednesday, April 26th and the cost to register will be $45 per couple. This fee will cover the cost of your workbooks for the weekend and must be paid in advance. You can pay online (please make a note in the comment field for marriage retreat) or you can pay by check at church. Again, please note that your payment is for the marriage retreat.

FAQs
Can we bring children?
This is a time for couples to spend with one another. While we care deeply about children, we ask that couples arrange other plans for their children during this event. Childcare is not provided.
Will I have to engage in group discussion?
The event does not include group discussion (just personal project discussion with your spouse). There will be some opportunities for those who wish to share what they got from the teaching to do so, but it is completely optional.
Will I be required to participate in the projects with my spouse?
This event was designed so that the projects are an essential part of the experience. The projects allow you to immediately apply what you’ve learned from the videos to your marriage. We highly recommend that you make the completion of the projects a priority during the event. The projects are the best part of the event!
We have a great marriage. Why should we attend the event or series?
Every marriage relationship is in a constant state of movement: You are either growing closer together or further apart. Unfortunately, it seems that the natural inclination of human hearts is to drift apart over time. Every marriage needs a tune-up from time to time, no matter how well it might be running. The video event and small-group series are designed to strengthen and enrich even the best of marriages. Both also serve as great reminders that you are God’s gift to each other.
Will there be food at the event?
There will be drinks and enjoyable light snacks. Please plan on providing your own lunch for Saturday (we will have suggestions for lunch in downtown Galax and the surrounding area).
What is the refund policy?
The cost of your ticket is used right away to purchase your material for the event, so we regret that we are unable to provide refunds. But should something come up after you have purchased your tickets, please contact us directly and we will try to work something out..
Why a charge?
The money collected is just enough to pay for the cost of materials (primarily the two books for each couple). If cost is an issue, please contact us!
