Reopening Update

Reopening Update

We have received a few questions about our plans for reopening in-person worship services. Last week, our Governor released new guidance allowing churches to reopen with reduced capacity starting this Sunday. However, due to the rise of local cases in Galax and Carroll County, we don’t feel it is prudent or safe to reopen at this time.

The soonest we will consider opening is May 31st, with the possibility of being even later than that. Our Worship Center poses some unique challenges to spacing out, so we are working out the details to keep you as safe as possible. We would also like to see the local cases stabilize and start dropping. When we do reopen, expect that some things may look different so that we can have a “touchless” service. At first, we won’t be having classes for our Cornerstone Kids and our Cornerstone Cafe will not be open.

We will be sharing more information soon with detail about the steps we are taking to reopen, and we want you to know that we truly miss everyone. However, your safety and health is the most important thing right now. We have shared that our church is more than a building, and we have seen this over the past eight weeks as you have stayed connected and shared the love of Christ with our community.

To help us better prepare, we want to hear from our Cornerstone family. Will you take a minute and fill out this survey for us? Your answers will help us as we finalize our plans.

We appreciate your understanding. We know everyone might have different opinions with how soon we should start meeting together, and we want you to know that we take our responsibility seriously. We are prayerfully working through all the details, and we will do everything we can to prepare a safe environment when we do resume meeting. We appreciate your prayers as we continue reaching this community for Christ!
