Introducing our Church-Wide Fall Study (starting mid-September, 2017)

Over the past several years, we have occasionally offered church-wide studies to get everyone studying and talking about the same topic. We have seen higher LifeGroup participation during these church-wide studies, and some of our most memorable sermons and groups have been during these times.

The elders have been looking at different options and discussing topics for studies. For this fall season, we have chosen a study called The Anatomy of a Disciple.

Here is a brief summary of the study from their website (anatomyofadisciple.com):

You have a purpose in this life. Do you believe that? Do you live like it’s true?

You’re a believer. You’re a follower of Christ trying to mature in your faith. And while you’re waiting to grow, you end up sinning again and again. So you try to be good, and try to do more, and hope to grow spiritually. But grow to what?

Rick Taylor walks alongside you through this journey of The Anatomy of a Disciple, giving you a clear, thorough picture of Jesus’ life and what it means to be His disciple, as you learn how to live out the teachings of the Bible in a practical, relatable way.

As in the past, we aren’t requiring our small groups to participate, but we are asking that you prayerfully consider taking part in this study. It will be an 8-9 week study with accompanying videos which we are planning to launch in the middle of September to coincide with our Sunday morning messages. We are also hoping to have a few new Lifegroups created specifically to participate in this study. The groups can be large or small, but we want to help everyone get connected at Cornerstone.

What Do I Need to Do?

If you are interested in leading a group this semester, please let Mike Morris ([email protected]) or Larry VanHoose ([email protected]) know ASAP. Over the next few weeks we will be finalizing the groups and giving everyone a chance to sign up. We are trusting God to do amazing things as we learn how to live out our faith in Christ.
