Changes for Our Clothing Closet

Changes for Our Clothing Closet

Over the past few years, we have provided a clothing closet at Cornerstone.  It has been a great help to our community, but we haven’t been able to open it very often. After discussion with many of our volunteers and leaders, we have decided that it would be better for us to work with Willing Partners. They specialize in receiving used clothing and do a great job ministering here in Galax.  By helping them, we can have an even greater impact for our community. We have taken our clothing items to them, and we plan on working with them to provide clothing to those in need.

From this point forward, we ask that you not drop off clothing at Cornerstone, and instead drop off your items at Willing Partners. It is located  near Roses in the Shopping Center.  Also, Willing Partners is in need of volunteer help.  Let us know if you would like to serve and help with their ministry, and we will help you get plugged in.

At Cornerstone, our vision is to work with other ministries in our area to share the love of Christ. This is just another way that we can do a better job by volunteering and serving with a community ministry. Don’t worry, we will plan on doing coat drives and other collections in the future, so you will have plenty of opportunities to continue serving at Cornerstone.

Matthew 25 NIV

34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
