Bulletin Announcements – November 20, 2015

The youth will not meet this evening.

The elders at Cornerstone invite you to join us for a churchwide prayer meeting this evening at 6:30pm. We are excited to share with you our vision for the future of Cornerstone. This has been a multi-year process as we have studied and prayed and sought God’s direction for our church. We will meet together as one large group, and then break up into smaller prayer groups led by the elders of Cornerstone.  Note: at this time, childcare will not be provided, since we would like all of our adults to be in the prayer service.

Our free community meal is this Wednesday, November 25th. We still need a lot of volunteers to make this successful! Please sign up here or at the resource table or see Nicole. Bring your whole family and get to know the people in this great community!

We will be having a Baby and Child Dedication Ceremony during both of our morning worship services on November 29th. This is a time for both parents and the church to commit to raising our children in a Godly home. If you are interested in taking part in this ceremony, please contact the church office at [email protected] or 276-236-2583.

On Sunday, December 13th, we will be having a combined discover lunch and membership class after the second service. NOTE: This is a new date because of the Thanksgiving week-end. It will also be our last one of this year. We’ll have lunch together and then split up into two groups. Our discover lunch is where we share about the vision and mission of Cornerstone, and share opportunities for getting involved and connected. It’s also your chance to ask questions and meet our leadership team. Our membership class is for those who desire to become a member of Cornerstone. This class goes into detail about what it means to become a member. Please preregister at the kiosk to let us know if you can attend. Childcare will be provided if necessary.

New Elders Under Consideration. The Elder Team at Cornerstone is recommending Chris Waller and Tony Price to the congregation as new Elders. Elders must meet the qualifications of Titus 1, 1 Timothy 3, and 1 Peter 5. Potential elders are nominated by individuals in the church. After that, they go through an examination process with the current elder team. After the examination process, they must then serve for three to six months as elders in training. Finally, they are announced to the church and feedback is received for a period of at least two weeks. Elders agree to serve a 3 year term and they serve as overseers and shepherds of the church. If you have any questions or reservations about Chris or Tony, please speak to them or a current elder. They have served as Elders-in-Training for the last six months, and will assist the current elders in leading and shepherding the church.

Good News! Great Joy! It’s Operation Christmas Child Time!! If you have not returned your shoeboxes, please make sure to drop them off at the church by tomorrow evening. We will be taking a trip to Boone on Tuesday to pack shoeboxes and will take them with us.
